When Winelovers gathered to celebrate their 10th #Winelover Anniversary June 10-12, 2022 in Greece Cinque was there to welcome them. Like Greece has allured #winelovers since the beginning of time; so has Cinque since it opened its doors. Wether you are new to wine, or it has been a life lone passion when in Athens Cinque tops the list. For me, my love of Greek wines all began when I visited Northern Greece in 2015. Later, I attended the first #Winelover Anniversary February 2016 in Athens, followed by return visits, virtual meetings hosted by Cinque, and hence returning for 10th anniversary celebrations last month was a must. Both throughout the recent anniversary celebrations and during prior visits I have discovered that Cinque is a must when in Athens.
Whenever I am in Athens I return to Cinque (Cinque Wine Delights, 10 Voreou Street, and Cinque Wine Bar, 15 Agatharchou Street). I feel so fortunate that I have been able to enjoy Greek Wines at Cinque. Since my first meeting with Evangelie and Greg in 2016, I have had the pleasure to meet up with them and Nikitas at a number of #winelover hangouts in Europe. Of course, whenever I was able to return to Cinque it is always a special treat. For me getting to know Greek wines has been an amazing journey. Given that 2020-21 was a challenging for wine travelers, some of us found new ways to virtually experience and/or relive our wine adventures. Evangelie, Greg and Nikitas, were there to share their passion for Greek Wines.
Cinque Welcomes Winelovers to Greece
For those who arrived in Athens before the anniversary celebrations Cinque Wine Delights offered a pre-anniversary wine event on June 9th. Cinque's Nikitas Prassas did a Premium Greek Red Wine Tasting.

First event of the Winelover 10th Anniversary Celebration was held at Cinque on June 10th. There were so many wines to try from all over the world. Beyond exploring the wines, meeting up with friends, both old and new, at Cinque was awesome. Here we shared the joy of being in Athens to mark the 10th anniversary.

Cinque was the site of many gatherings both pre and post 10th Anniversary Celebrations. I visited Cinque during my trips to and from Athens, May 24 - June 13/2022. There was always fabulous wine and food on all occasions.
For example, a small group met at Cinque Wine Delights for a late afternoon gathering.

I always welcome the opportunity to taste and learn about Greece's Indigenous Wines, like Assyritko and Mouhtaro (very rare red grape grown exclusively in Central Greece), with Evangelie and Greg. For sure Greece, home to over 300 indigenous grape varieties, makes Greek wines with their impressive history so exciting to explore.
We enjoyed awesome food during that afternoon as well.
Of course I had to return to Cinque Wine Bar (the first Cinque), at 15 Agatharchou Street while in Athens.
Wine is always about creating those special memories of sharing wine and food with friends. Both throughout the anniversary celebrations and during prior visits I have discovered that Cinque is special. I still remember when I arrived in Athens for a #winelover Anniversary February 2016 I just happen to connect with Evangelie, a Facebook friend who owned a wine bar in Central Athens. Yes, the wine bar was Cinque. Some places are special because of the people. For Cinque it is not just because they are nice but also, because they are knowledgeable about the wines and bring passion to sharing Greek Wine. What I encountered on my initial #winelover outing to Cinque was not only great wines and food, but also amazing hospitality from the owners (Evangelie Tseliou & Greg Prassas).
Of course whenever I am in Athens I am never far from the Acropolis.
Visitors to Central Athens will soon discover that they can take in the best views of the Acropolis from roof tops of restaurants and hotels. We were most fortunate to experience great roof top views of the Acropolis while Athens.
