Thanks for those vine-filled memories of Cottage Grove's Covered Bridge, Oregon

Lunch paired with wines, from Bluebird Hill CellarsBrigadoon and Iris Vineyards at Oregon's Cottage Grove’s Covered Bridge was pure joy. We enjoyed a most fabulous lunch in downtown Cottage Grove at an historic covered bridge, the only remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi. Cottage Grove is a small town in Lane County, located on the Row River, and near the Umpqua National Forest. Spaswinefood welcomed the opportunity to visit Cottage Grove’s Covered Bridge on our Wine Media Conference #WMC21 South Willamette Valley post-conference excursion. We were about to discover South Willamette Valley Wine Country at its best!

Let's Tour South Willamette Valley Wine Country

From Eugene the bus continue onto the Chambers Railroad Covered Bridge in Cottage Grove, Oregon. We had come to explore the South Willamette, home to wineries and vineyards that surround Eugene. That day we were introduced to three of those wineries over lunch.

Indeed, we ate a most delightful lunch, paired with wines from Bluebird Hill CellarsBrigadoon, and Iris Vineyards, on the only remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi. The Chambers Railroad Covered Bridge constructed in 1925, was moved and restored in 2011. Looking at the amazing intricate metal work inside the bridge even tells more of the story. What a stunning setting for lunch!

Not only was it the most fabulous lunch with great wines, but also the hospitality was amazing!
