Welcome to Wine Travels

I am happy to celebrate the arrival of 2022 with the launching of my new blog Wine Travels with Dr. Sharon. Since 2010 my vine-filled travels have taken me around the world to the wine regions of Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Chile, Canada, Georgia, Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, and Uruguay. My future wine travels will continue to explore these regions and beyond. When I venture off the wine roads other vine-filled experiences will sometimes take center stage, as well I will share wine events, and make wine connections by exploring special topics about wine.

I begin this new adventure from Antigua, Guatemala, the Land of Eternal Spring. No, it is not a wine region, but a place where wines can be enjoyed, and stories written. A perfect place for #offthewineroad adventures both real and virtual.

Since 2010 I have been based half of the year in Antigua, Guatemala and the other half stateside. Wether in Guatemala, the US, or traveling elsewhere my writing focus has centered on wine.  My travels have taken me to Argentina (Cafayate, Mendoza, San Juan, Salta and Patagonia), Australia (Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Granite Belt, Hunter Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Margaret River, Mudgee, New England, Orange and Yarra Valley), Bulgaria, Chile (Casablanca Valley, Cholchagua Valley and Maipo Valley), Canada (Okanagan Valley, Vancouver Island), Georgia, Germany (Mosel), Greece, France (Champagne, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Provence and Tavel), Italy (Alto Adige, Chianti Classico, Franciacorta, and Sicily), Portugal (Algraves, Douro, Madeira), Serbia, Romania, South Africa (Constantia, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Klein Karoo and Stellenbosch), Spain (Malaga, Navarra, Ribera del Duero, Rioja and Rueda), Switzerland (Valais), Turkey, United States (Arizona, California, Idaho, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington), and Uruguay (Canelones, Montevideo, Maldonado).
